The Start-up scene across many markets in Africa including South Africa is booming. In an environment where funding for startups is slowing down, Africa is the only continent that attracted more venture capital funding in 2022 than in 2021, albeit from a relatively smaller base.
However, a large majority of the VC-funded startups remain local or regional players with a only handful reaching the Unicorn status. Even that, a valuation of more than $1bln in valuation does not guarantee long-term success, strong organizational foundation and a global footpring.
- What would it take for an African startup to become a global company?
- Is it only a question of time, finance and market access or are there other key ingredients to take into account?
- With the initial focus on scaling quickly, how can an organizations grow in this fast pace environment, while nurturing a healthy, inclusive and sustainable corporate culture?
The Spanish Chamber of Commerce RSA is pleased to partner with IESE Business School in hosting this informative session, where these strategies and questions with entrepreneurs and investors will be discussed.
